"Schulerbuben’s Wanderlust", von Ludwig Eichrodt

[mexikanisches Fragment einer langen, lustigen Dichtung über die Wanderlust]

Nach dem heißen Mexikonien,
Mach ich auf mich und davonigen,
Wo der Vollmond wüthig saust;
Wo verzaubert Hans und Gretl
Steht am Popokatepetl,
Und der Vitzliputzli haust -
Dahin, Alter, muß ich ziehn;

This voice makes me shiver

I had heard about Jessie J, but I really first listened to her during the Closing Ceremony of the Olympic Games. She was just gorgeous and I just falled in love with that unique and amazing and passionately voice.

This is one of most amazing live interpretations I have ever heard. I'm even shivering! This is a real voice and a real musician. Just awesome.

Fly me to the moon

After the recent death of Neil Armstrong, I bumped into a super interesting project: We Choose The Moon. It is an interactive webpage, which shows you with original videos, audio clips and images the whole project of "sending men to the moon, and bringing them safe back to Earth", as JFK put it.

It is worth to have a look at it, since you get the impression of being part of the crew of Apollo 11.

Berlin 775

Today, Berlin and Berliners and Berliners-in-love-with-Berlin like me are celebrating the city's 775 birthday.

Sent from my iPhone

I just got a very, very long e-mail from a friend of mine in Berlin. We hadn't talk for a year and she made an update. It took me almost five minutes just to read the long letter...

At the end, a jewel:

sent from my phone - please excuse typos and brevity

Right!

That reminded me of my cousin's signature:

sent from my microwave

Even the New York Times featured a piece on this.

Trains and a pathetic newspaper

Today, there were two train derailments: in Baltimore, a train loaded with coal, and in Berlin, a S-Bahn full with people.

And what has to publish the "best" Mexican newspaper in North Mexico? A hotchpotch! The Baltimore story with the Berlin picture.

This is serious journalism, this is Mexican way of working professionally... Hélas!

(Not a Roy Lichtenstein) John Rosenberger

If I had the money, I would definitely buy this one.

Adenda December 2012:
I finally found it! It's not a Lichtenstein, but an intervened comic image by John Rosenberger.

The LEGO story

If LEGO made you happy as a child, then you should know its story. The company turned 80 last Friday, and published this inspiring video. Just awesome!

Bad Photoshop

It's worthier the graceful imperfection than the graceless perfection. Isn't it?

Earlier this week I laughed at the cover image of Milenio. Look at that huge tumor she has on her hip.

That reminded me of the summer Photoshop scandal, by Victoria's Secret. The "perfect" girl!

Of course, there are much more...
