My cinema — Sony Center 313/365

There has been a discussion because Netflix put subtitles for the Spanisch market on the film “Roma”, which runs in Mexican Spanish. This is ridiculous, as there are only a few words or idioms which are really hard to understand if you are not used to the regional variation. The truth is, Spaniards synchronize all films, one of the reasons why they are so bad at English. But Germans do it as well. In the big cities, there are only few possibilities of watching a Hollywood film in English; in the smaller cities it is virtually impossible to have the original language. My impression was that this was changing, that it was becoming easier to have the original version of the film in an increasing number of cinemas. But Netflix’s charade seems a regression.

Since it’s beginning, this cinema under the Sony Center has been screening films in their original languages. This is then the most popular one and my favorite.
