The newest play by Tom Stoppard is already in Berlin. Not just in Berlin but in the awesome Renaissance Theater, which still looks like in the 20's. It depicts the "Rock 'n' Roll Revolution" fought underground by The Plastic People Of The Universe in Prague between 1968 till the "Velvet Revolution" in 1989.
A Ph.D. student leaves Cambridge for Prague in order to support his own people after the invasion of the Varsovian Pact troops. He is a big fan of The Velvet Underground, Pink Floyd and, of course, of The Plastics. Stoppard reflects the political views of the 20-odd years between 1968 and 1990 in the music preferences of this romantic idealist: starting with Syd Barrett and ending with a massive concert of The Rolling Stones in Prag. A very rich theater piece, which now I intend to read, before I watch it again.
Everyday is said that the X-Generation lacks of ideals. I won't discuss it now. But we all notice a lot of noise against the G8 meeting in Heiligendamm. Not just anticapitalists are trying to stop it, but even stars like Bono are drawing attention to some incoherences of this group. Some like to compare the underground activity of the Plastic People Of The Universe with the increasing and worldwide popular Live8.

Does anybody else in here
Feel the way I do?

Am besten lass uns some sunny day wieder treffen!
Bisous!

Tschuss
Yo no aprendí nada de alemán en mi ida a Viena..
Lo único a rescatar: danke!
