Benedictus dixit

Excerpts from Three Stages in the Program of De-Hellenization, by Benedictus delivered to scientists at the University of Regensburg.

Modifying the first verse of the Book of Genesis, John began the prologue of his Gospel with the words: "In the beginning was the logos (and the logos is God)".

God acts with logos. "... not acting reasonably (syn logo) is contrary to God's nature", said Byzantine emperor Manuel II Paleologus (1391).

Is the conviction that acting unreasonably contradicts God's nature merely a Greek idea, or is it always and intrinsically true?

Nota bene: The intention here is not one of retrenchment or negative criticism, but of broadening our concept of reason and its application.

Algo tiene que ver el modo en que el Padre Brown descubre a Flambeau al final the "The Blue Cross". Son dos razones, la segunda muy sugerente:

"Has it never struck you that a man who does next to nothing but hear men's real sins is not likely to be wholly unaware of human evil? But, as a matter of fact, another part of my trade, too, made me sure you weren't a priest."
"What?" asked the thief, almost gaping.
"You attacked reason," said Father Brown. "It's bad theology."

¿Jala o no jala?
